Rebellion Psalm 2:1-3

“Why do the nations rebel? Why are the countries devising plots that will fail?

The kings of the earth form a united front; the rulers collaborate against the Lord and his anointed king.  They say, “Let’s tear off the shackles they’ve put on us!

Let’s free ourselves from their ropes!”-Psalm 2:1-3

The complete and total rebellion of man against God, is summarized here by the psalmist.

In the end, the scripture says that “all of the kings of the earth and their armies will be assembled to make war against the Lord Jesus.” (Rev. 19:19) What a futile exercise that will be.

Why do you and I rebel in the little things? Just like a little child, each one of us has it in our sin nature to want to “tear off the shackles” or “free ourselves” from the things of God.

By faith, we have come to understand that within the Lord’s loving grip there is true freedom and true liberty. It is the enemy of our souls that would have us enslaved, enslaved to sin.

If you find yourself in rebellion today my friend, perhaps over some little thing,… ask the Lord to forgive you, to free you, and yield to Him afresh.
