Magnificence, Love, & Intention

1 O LORD, our Lord, How majestic is Your name in all the earth, Who have displayed Your splendor above the heavens! 2 From the mouth of infants and nursing babes You have established strength Because of Your adversaries, To make the enemy and the revengeful cease. 3 When I consider Your heavens, the work of Your fingers, The moon and the stars, which You have ordained; 4 What is man that You take thought of him, And the son of man that You care for him? 5 Yet You have made him a little lower than God, And You crown him with glory and majesty! 6 You make him to rule over the works of Your hands; You have put all things under his feet, 7 All sheep and oxen, And also the beasts of the field, 8 The birds of the heavens and the fish of the sea, Whatever passes through the paths of the seas.
9 O LORD, our Lord, How majestic is Your name in all the earth! — Psalm 8

Two things that David takes note of…
1. God has displayed Himself in creation! From the time that I was a little boy I have understood the magnificence of Gods creation. I don’t know why I have, but I have. I remember all those summer nights laying out in my back yard staring at the stars. These times formed my thoughts of how big God is and how small I am.
2. God, in His infinite love and mercy has blessed man with charge of His creation. It would be many years before the thoughts that God imparted to this young boy all those summers ago would bear fruit resulting in saving faith, but when I finally understood that God indeed wanted to bless my life, that seed of faith blossomed. The end result is simply a deeper understanding of just how awesome and majestic God really is. God could just be awesome, could just be majestic in His creative power, but it’s His love, and His intention of blessing, that makes Him all the more majestic to those who know Him.
