Marriage In Genesis – No.2

So the LORD God caused a deep sleep to fall upon the man, and he slept; then He took one of his ribs and closed up the flesh at that place. The LORD God fashioned into a woman the rib which He had taken from the man, and brought her to the man. The man said, “This is now bone of my bones, And flesh of my flesh; She shall be called Woman, Because she was taken out of Man.” -Genesis 2:21-23

This is a verse that the skeptic has a hard time with. “Really? God made woman out of a rib?”
You either believe in a God of miracles, who can do something that your intellect cannot fathom, or your intellect is god, and He is not. I’m going with the scriptures.

The picture here is that the woman and man are divinely connected. Symbolically, the woman comes from man’s side, which is where, in the divine marriage relationship she belongs. The woman’s position is not in front of, nor behind the man, but beside him. She was “fashioned” by God to be that suitable companion for the man. He did a good job. -Amen!

The second Adam, Jesus, would have a wound in His side out of which blood and water would flow, giving birth to His bride the church.
