Are You Really Going To Heaven?

I was recently having a conversation with a couple of “missionaries” that stopped by my house. During our conversation, I asked them a very simple, question: “Do you know for certain that you are going to heaven?” They both replied: “No one can now that for sure, but we think so.” The answer is a very revealing one, don’t you think?
I scolded both of them, because although they were carrying religious literature, they obviously were not very knowledgeable in the scriptures. I reminded them of the following verse:
“These things I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, so that you may know that you have eternal life.” –1 John 5:13
They seemed surprised at hearing this verse.
John wrote pretty plainly, that one could know that they have eternal life, of course the context of John’s teaching indicates that the eternal life that he is writing about, is eternal life with Christ (Heaven)!
“And the testimony is this, that God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son. He who has the Son has the life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have the life.” –1 John 5:11,12

This question regarding eternal destiny, is one that probably every human being thinks about at one time or another. The time to think about it is now, not later. Friend you can know for certain where you will go when you die. If you choose to reject Christ in this life, God will honor your choice, and you will find yourself eternally separated from Him in Hell.

Heaven or Hell, the choice is yours, but God has provided a way to Heaven – Jesus!

Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father but through Me. –John 14:6
