I hope that you are one of the millions of people that will remember what Jesus of Nazareth did 2000+ years ago. The exact day doesn’t really matter to me. The names by which we remember the events don’t really matter to me either. What matters, is the truth of what did happen.
The Apostle Paul said, “I delivered to you as of first importance what I also received, that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, and that He was buried, and that He was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures, and that He appeared to Cephas, then to the twelve.”
1 Cor. 15:3-5 (NASB)
He spoke pretty plainly here, about the priority of the simple gospel message. It’s all about Jesus,… who He is, and what He did.
1. He was born, and lived a sinless life.
2. He died for our sins.
3. He fulfilled many Old Testament prophecies concerning the Messiah.
4. He died.
5. He rose on the third day.
6. He fulfilled more Old Testament prophecies.
7. He appeared to the disciples, and even 500 people at one time.
I’m thrilled to have another year to echo the words of Paul and attempt to articulate this timeless and urgent message –to whomever will listen!
I hope that you are believing in Jesus today, and celebrating the new life in Him. If you are not, you should consider Him afresh. “for He says, “AT THE ACCEPTABLE TIME I LISTENED TO YOU, AND ON THE DAY OF SALVATION I HELPED YOU.” Behold, now is “THE ACCEPTABLE TIME,” behold, now is “THE DAY OF SALVATION” -2 Cor. 6:2 (NASB)
